BRIDGES

Thursday March 4, 2010

From diary: “Bridge” seems to be a recurring word in the past couple of days.  In a poster at a bus stop advertising a new cop series called “The Bridge” on CTV, starring Aaron Douglas, who played Galen on Battlestar Galactica.  Several other instances. A bridge collapse shown on the news. Watching the Star Trek episode “Assignment Earth” last night, Gary Seven is crawling across a beam to reach the rocket he intends to disable – the beam is essentially a bridge.   On the title of books walking through WBB this afternoon.  One placed right next to Eliot Perlman’s “Seven Types of Ambiguity”.

Also:  Feb. 24 – after a dream about A----, I google him and find an article from 2000 with a picture of him and his daughter, captioned: “A---- shown with his daughter Bridget..”

Mar 1 - latest occurrences of bridge -

Playing bridge in Before the Bombardment (novel by Osbert Sitwell)

In the movie White, the fellow countryman of the protaganist has memorized a string of cards - useful skill for playing bridge he says

Then this morning, Fr. X---- sends an updated parish listing.  I have been wondering about the name of a young woman of east Indian origin who seems friendly to me and knows my name.  He mentioned in his e-mail that our next theology intern is named N---- Bridgemohan.  She, presumably, is the young woman in question.  (And I have visual confirmation on the internet of this, as she has been involved with youth activities with the Episcopal Church.  An unusual name, with a "bridge" in it...

..  A company called “Bridgemark” on the corner where the bus stop to home is.

..  Last night, when Ellen Marie showed up at Chris’ (making four of us) Chris said:  “Enough for a round of bridge, anyway.”
